Wellness Month Upcoming Events

About Community Wellness Days/Mental Health Awareness Month
The Union of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Wellness Team is honouring Mental Health Awareness Month this May by hosting Community Wellness Days in communities across Unama’ki and Paqtnkek. These events are designed to bring people together in a welcoming, supportive environment where wellness is celebrated and resources are made accessible.
Each Community Wellness Day will offer food and refreshments, games, activities for all ages, face painting, swag bags, and free haircuts for community members. In addition, attendees can connect with mental health resources, services, and supports in a relaxed and culturally grounded setting.
Beyond these events, the UNSM Wellness Team provides ongoing support through case management, service navigation, counselling, and traditional healing for First Nations individuals and families. This campaign highlights both the events and the continued availability of these important services.
